Notes

Mother of Hannah (Converse) Cumins. The second of the six children of Amos Walbridge, later major of the 2nd Connecticut, and his wife Margaret, she was born at Stafford in October 1752 and married Israel Converse there on 27 June 1771, two years after the death of his first wife (source). Her first child, a son, died in January 1773 “aged about 8 months”; she bore twelve in all between 1772 and 1797, among them Hannah (1785), Porter (1778) and Orinda (1794).

She went with her husband to Randolph, Vermont, was widowed there in 1806, and died at Parkman, Ohio, on 17 Oct 1830 (source). Kith and Kin prints a portrait of her, captioned “Hannah Wallbridge Converse.” The Ancestry tree entered her under her married name, Hannah Converse.
