Notes
Mother of Hannah (Walbridge) Converse, and wife of Maj. Amos Walbridge of Stafford. Her maiden name is not known: Wallbridge’s genealogy has “Margaret [blank],” Kith and Kin “Margaret, whose surname is unknown” (source; source). She bore six children between 1751 and 1771 and outlived her husband by ten months, dying at Stafford on 13 Aug 1794. Her great-great-granddaughter Ella (Chapin) Browne named her in her DAR application only as “Margaret, his wife” (source).

Open questions
- Her surname. The Ancestry tree’s “Washburn” has no source behind it.
- A great-granddaughter wrote in 1895, “I don’t know about the first wife, but the second was a Widow Walbridge, of Wales, Mass.” Nothing else suggests a second marriage: Margaret was his wife from before 1751 and his widow in 1794.
