Notes

Of Plymouth. Owned the Harlow Old Fort House, 119 Sandwich Street, from 1728, after his father. His brother Samuel released his share to “his brothers, William and John,” and John then released to William, who so gained full title in 1728. In 1765 “John Harlow, one of the sons of William” sold the house out of the family (Davis, Part I p. 322, from deeds) [compiled]. He and his wife Mercy Rider were second cousins, both great-grandchildren of Robert Bartlett and Mary Warren.

His marriage entry calls him “William HARLOW Jr.,” probably to mark him off from his uncle William (b. 1657, d. 1711/12) and from the William who married Joanna Jackson in 1713.

Their children are entered in the Plymouth VR as “The children of William Harlow Jr. & Marsey his wife”: Sarah (1715), Benjamin (1716), William (1718), Hannah (1719/20), Mercy (1721/2), Keziah (1723), Samuel (1726), Phebe (21 Oct 1728), Rebecca (1732), Seth (1736). The master tree had marked the list compiled.
