Notes
Father of Theodia (Porter) Walbridge. One of the younger sons of Samuel Porter, a first settler of Hadley, he married Abigail Williams of Roxbury in 1698 and stayed at Hadley for a generation: he was one of the town’s five selectmen in 1709, 1712, 1714, 1717, 1719 and 1721, and in 1721, when the province lent bills of credit to the towns, “Hadley chose Westwood Cooke, Experience Porter and John Nash, trustees to let out the money” (source). About 1725 he moved to Mansfield, Connecticut, where three of his daughters married Storrses, and he died there in 1750, aged 74.
