What it says
“Literally transcribed from the Original Records” by George Ernest Bowman, read in the archive.org full text. The headnote quotes the Eastham records: “Nicholas Snow senior decesed the fiftenth day of November in the year one thousand six hundred sevetie six” and “Constant Snow which was the Wife of Nicholas Snow died about the Midle of October in the year 1677”; letters of administration to “Constant Snow and Marke Snow and John Snow,” 6 March 1676/7. The editor’s footnote on Constant: “Daughter of Stephen Hopkins by his first wife. See M. D., II: 12, 118.”
The will, made “being weake and Infeirme of body but of prfect Memory,” leaves land at Namskeket, Satucket, Pochet and Paomet to his sons Mark, Joseph, Stephen, John and Jabez; to “my Loveing wife Constant Snow all my stocke of Cattle sheep horses swine whatsoever … with all the moveable Goods I am posessed of and after her Decease, stocke and Movables to be equally Devided amongst all my Children”; and to the church of Eastham ten shillings “for the furniture of the Table of the Lord.” It names none of his daughters, though it places land “between my house and my son Thomas Paines”; Samuel Treat and Thomas Paine Sr. witnessed it. Dated 14 Nov 1676.
