What it says
Printed in The Mayflower Descendant and quoted in the Cape Cod research
(research/ellingwood/Ellingwood_Cape_Cod.md):
- 20 July 1713: John Cole, “In Consideration of my Reall Love & good will unto my naturall son Joseph Cole of Eastham,” gave him land; and on 29 Jan 1714/15 gave “my naturall son Joseph Cole” his right in “the Lands lying in the Township of Harwich that my Hon’d father Daniel Cole Died seized of” (MD 14:78-79). This proves John’s father and names his son Joseph.
- 18 Apr 1764: “Joseph Cole of Eastham … yeoman” gave his land “to my two natural Sons namely, Gersham Cole, and Joseph Cole both of Eastham” (Barnstable Deeds 30:186; MD 16:9-10).
