John Ellis born “not later than 1627,” died before 23 Mar 1676/7; the list of his children; his son Matthias’s wife Mercy identified as Mercy Nye, born 8 Apr 1652, daughter of Benjamin Nye and Katherine Tupper; Capt. Joel Ellis as son of Matthias, and his children; Jemima, Joel’s second wife, as the widow of Samuel Bennett, born Tupper; no evidence that Edward Perry’s wife Mary was Edmund Freeman’s daughter.
