Notes

Married Thomas Emerson at Bishop’s Stortford, 1 July 1611. The Ipswich Emersons suggests she was a daughter of Elder William Brewster of Scrooby; that is chronologically implausible, since his eldest known child was born in 1593.

Her husband made “my Loueing wife Elizabeth Emerson sole executrix.” During her widowhood she was to have the farm rent, the house, the household goods and all the cattle, and a codicil adds that she “shall enioy for hur vs halfe the fruit of the orchard during hur natural lif” (Probate Records of Essex County 2:36-37).

Mollie's typescript· 1 passage · 1 claim checked

What Mollie wrote about her in The Holbrook and Low Families, and her claims about her checked against the records.

  1. Mollie's Emerson chart gives her marriage to Thomas Emerson on 1 July 1611 and wonders whether she was a sister of Elder Brewster.

Checked against the records

  • Unlikely
Elizabeth Brewster was a sister of Elder Brewster

Nothing found links her to Elder William Brewster of Plymouth, and her parents are unknown. The Ipswich Emersons (1900) suggests she was his daughter, which the dates rule out: his eldest known child was born in 1593, and she married Thomas Emerson in 1611.
