His brother, Lt. Stephen Low of Chebacco, was "Slain att the Battle of Tyconderoga," 8 July 1758 (Ipswich VR 2:625).
His will, dated 17 June 1773, names his wife Abigail; sons Thomas, Caleb, Nathan, William and Jeremiah; "Thomas Varney, brother" (his brother-in-law); and daughters Katharine Sutton, Abigail Low (wife of Joseph Low) and Mary Bradley. It is known from a WikiTree abstract of the Essex probate image; the image itself has not been seen.
Children (Ipswich VR 1:251-255): Catherine (bp. 17 Mar 1733/4); Abigail (b. 10 Sept 1735, d. 1736); Abigail (b. 1 Sept 1737); Caleb (bp. 8 July 1739); Nathan (b. 1 Oct 1742); Thomas (b. 20 Feb 1744); Mary (b. 7 May 1747); William (b. 4 Nov 1751, d. 28 Dec 1752); William (b. 27 May 1754); Jeremiah (b. 17 Dec 1756). There is no son David, which is the evidence against Mollie's "Captain David Low ... brothers of our ancestor."
Mollie (p. 78) also makes Major Caleb Low an aide to Washington at André's execution. A Major Caleb Low (1739-1810, of Danvers) served in Col. Nathaniel Wade's regiment from 6 July to 10 Oct 1780 (Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors 9:1020), when it was in the Hudson Highlands; nothing makes him an aide. Crowell (History of Essex, p. 226) repeats from Hanson's History of Danvers that he "was present at the execution of Andre" and prints an order to him signed by Washington; his service is documented, being an aide is not.
Mollie also says "a part of his life was spent in Danvers" (not tested), and that his son Thomas married Dorothy Choate, whose children "were all born in the old slant-roof house" later replaced by Josiah Low's square house.
