The New-York Historical Society abstract (Liber 25, p. 56): “In the name of God, Amen. I, Ephraim Raymond, Sr., of Bedford, Westchester County, ‘being ill and not well in body.’ I leave to my dearly beloved wife Mary my house and home lot and orchard during her widowhood. Also 10 acres with the meadow on the south side of the road, and one cow, and such of the movables as she shall see fit to keep. I leave to my eldest son Thadeus 5 shillings. To my 2d son Ephraim 5 shillings. To my 3d son Ebenezer all my land which I have on the north side of the highway where I now live, bounded south by highway, east by Ephraim Raymond, Jr., north by Elias Seely’s land, west by Ebenezer Raymond. I leave to my 4th son Samuel all the land which I have on the south side of the highway, against where I now live … My son Ebenezer is to pay to my eldest daughter, Ann Fairchild, £20. My son Samuel is to pay to my 2d daughter, Mary Read, £20. I leave to my grandchild Sarah, ‘that I brought up,’ £10. I make Joseph Clark and Ephraim Raymond and my wife, executors. February 6, 1765. Witnesses, Jonathan Wescot, John Price, Joseph Clark. Proved, April 1, 1765.”
Pelletreau’s abstract agrees, with “my grand daughter Sarah that I brought up.”
