What it says

The family typescript compiled by Mollie Frances (Holbrook) Pfeiffer (1870-1954), daughter of Capt. Richard Blackmer Holbrook and Harriet Phillips Low. “THE LOW FAMILY” (pp. 67-187) covers her mother’s ancestry: the Low chart from Thomas (1) to Capt. Nathan (7) and Harriet, and the Boreman, Lamb, Wise, Tompson, Varney-Proctor, Lord, Waite, Fuller, Emerson, Thompson-Foster, Bate, Payson, Kneeland and Hawkins lines, then Tyler and Ginn.

Its text follows printed books closely (Hosmer’s Deer Isle, Pierce’s Foster Genealogy, Kneeland 1897 and through it Burke), and their errors pass into it. research/holbrook/Mollie_Typescript_Review.md checks it claim by claim. For the Low side it was long the only source for Harriet’s parents and birth date; the Deer Isle and Hancock County records found in October 2026 (research/low/Low_Master_Research.md) now prove both, and show that Capt. Nathan Low married on 16 Sept 1832, not on her 4 Oct 1832 (a pencil correction agreeing with her own chart; the typed Feb 25, 1835 is Frederick Tyler’s wedding). It remains the only source for much of the family’s account: the 1874 collision as the family told it, Harriet’s courtship and her life on Whidbey Island.
