Kankakee County, Illinois, County Court: guardianship of Ellsworth Ellingwood, 27 Jan 1875

Read in the research file (Ellingwood_Master_Research.md, October 2026). “Comes Finley Ellingwood and represents to the court that Ellsworth Ellingwood … is an orphan minor of the age of ten years, has no father living and is without a guardian in this State.” The court found “that said Finley Ellingwood is the brother of said minor” and appointed him guardian of the person and estate, with James W. Kay, Adeline’s husband, on his bond.
