Finley Ellingwood’s eldest sister, in her father’s household at Manchester in 1850 (record) and at Momence in 1860 (record); “Miss Adaline Ellingwood” gave to the Methodist church at Kankakee in 1863. She married James W. Kay of Watseka, Illinois, and was the “Mrs. Kay” of Cudge’s memoir, mother of Wendell Kay, a lawyer at Watseka, where her mother died. Her husband stood on Finley’s bond as guardian of their brother Ellsworth in 1875 (record).
