Includes the death of Mary (Warren) Bartlett, 27 Mar 1683, “in her 73d yeare” (22:250); “Will’. Harlow did in such a manner expresse himselfe murmuring at the soe preaching,” 9 Mar 1683/4, which does not say which William Harlow (22:254); Sgt. William Harlow’s death as a church member, Aug 1691 (22:271); and, in the list of deaths for 1789, “Nov … 24th George Ellis’s Wife” (22:417).
Also, for the Churchill, Stephens and Rider families:
- When Middleborough gathered its church on 26 Dec 1694 and ordained Samuel Fuller its teacher, the Plymouth church sent its pastor with “Deac: Faunce, Deac: George Morton, Bro: Eliezer Churchel & Bro: Ephraim Morton”; in 1696 Eleazer Churchill was again one of the brethren chosen to go with the pastor, to the ordination of Edward Thompson at Marshfield on 14 October.
- The member lists of 1703 include “Sam^l Rider” and “Lidia Rider, The wife of Sam^l Rider”; the deaths of members include “Samuell Rider sen^r July 18” (1715) (22:193-194, 214).
- About 1718 “Mary the wife of Edward Stephens” was baptized as an adult, in a group that also included Hannah, wife of Eleazer Churchill; a “Mary Stephens” was admitted to membership on 6 July (catalogue of members, and 22:219).
On Gov. Thomas Prence at his death (1673): “he had a countenance full of majesty & therein as well as otherwise was a Terrour to evill doers, he was very amiable & pleasant in his whole conversation” (1:147).
