Notes

Of Salisbury, “house-carpenter.” He received land at Salisbury in the “first division” and in 1640, and was on the 1650 list of “townsmen and commoners” (Hoyt I:31). He sat on the grand jury at the court held at Salisbury on 10 Apr 1666, with Lt. Challis as foreman (EQC 3:315). About 1684 he married (2) Alice, widow of John Roper and of John Dickison; she died 1 Apr 1687 (Hoyt I:31).

His will was made “in Boston” on Apr. 16, 1674, with a codicil of Nov. 7, 1676, and was proved July 22, 1686 (Hoyt I:31). Mollie Pfeiffer’s notes once call him “John Allen”; her chart has William.
