Mary Pynchon
Born at Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1650, probably a daughter of John Pynchon and Amy Wyllys, and the only one of John's daughters to grow up. In 1669 or 1670 she married Joseph Whiting, then a young merchant at Westfield, and died soon after the birth of their second child in 1674. Probably the mother of Mary (Whiting) Sheldon, through whom her share of the Pynchon fortune came down.

Notes
Mother of Mary (Whiting) Sheldon. The only daughter of John Pynchon of Springfield to grow up, she was born on 28 Oct 1650 (source) and married Joseph Whiting, then a young merchant at Westfield, in 1669 or 1670 (source). She had two children, Mary (b. 19 Aug 1672) and Joseph (b. 5 Oct 1674), and died soon after the second. Her share of the Pynchon fortune descended through her daughter to her granddaughter Mary (Sheldon) Hitchcock, whose husband “received from the Pynchon estate three hundred and seventy-nine pounds, being the rest of his wife’s fortune from that source” (source).
