Amy Wyllys
Wife of John Pynchon of Springfield, Massachusetts, whom she married in 1645, and probably the mother of Mary (Pynchon) Whiting. Born in England in 1624, probably a daughter of George Wyllys, later governor of Connecticut, and Bridget Yonge, she came to Hartford with her father's household in 1638. She bore five children, three of whom grew up, and died at Springfield in 1698/9.

Notes
Mother of Mary (Pynchon) Whiting. The daughter of George Wyllys of Fenny Compton, Warwickshire, later governor of Connecticut, she was born in England and came to Hartford with her father’s household in 1638. On 30 Oct 1645 she married John Pynchon of Springfield: “He m. Oct. 30, 1645, Amy Wyllys, b. in England in 1624, (dau. of Gov. Geo. Wyllys of Hartford, Ct.)” (source). The Hitchcock genealogy, tracing Mary (Sheldon) Hitchcock’s descent, puts it so: “The wife of John Pynchon of Springfield, Mass., was Amy, daughter of George Wyllys, the second governor of Connecticut, a man of wealth and a Puritan of the Puritans” (source). She bore five children between 1646 and 1661, three of whom grew up, and died at Springfield on 9 Jan 1698/9, aged 74.
