Notes

Grandmother of Sarah (Sally) Brace. “Keziah Woodruff, of Farmington, Connecticut,” married Abel Brace of Hartford on 2 Apr 1761, after banns published on 22 March (source), and bore fifteen children, fourteen of whom went with them to the New York frontier in 1793: Capt. Abel Brace “came here in 1793 from near Hartford, Conn., bringing with him his family of nine sons and five daughters, with his wife’s aged mother” (source). Her great-great-granddaughter Ella (Chapin) Browne gave her dates in her DAR application as “Kezia Woodruff, (1742-1812)” (source). Her name came down to her great-grandson Woodruff Chapin (1818-1893).
