- note
- 1660 in Freeman's Annals, 1670 in the 1907 Nye genealogy. A court record shows the courtship in 1660.
Sibling of Mercy, wife of Lt. Matthias Ellis, if she was Mercy Nye. In June 1660 William Newland testified that her father had threatened Jacob Burgis that unless he attended Marshal Barlow against the Quakers "hee should not haue his daughter to wife"; the daughter appears to be Mary. Children Samuel (1671), Ebenezer (1673), Jacob (1676), Thomas (1680).
