Printed in full by Davies, TAG 78:85-86. “I Augustine Walker of much Amwell in the Com of Herts: yeoma[n].” Signed by mark. No date of probate on the will or in the act book.
“I give & bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Warren wife of Richard Warren Sixteene pounds of lawefull money of England, and unto her three Children Marey, Ann and Sarey Warren Fower pounds … to be payde unto the saide Richard Warren to the use of the saide child[ren].” Also names Ann, wife of Thomas Holland, and her children Thomas, John, Frauncis and one “now conceyved”; “my daughter Mary Johnson”; and Simon and Dorothy, children of “Symon Adams Citizen & drap[er] of London,” with “a Gymmoll-Ringe of gold wch was her mothers.” Elizabeth also to have half the residue after the death of Augustine’s wife Mary. Simon Adams the elder overseer.
It also gives 10s to “Thomas Hassall Vicar of much Amwell … to preach one Sermond at my funerall” and 5s to the poor. Davies notes “three marks made by Augustine Walker, all quite different” (TAG 78:85-86 and n. 28).
