What it says
The affidavit for the licence, sworn by the groom before the county judge on 12 February 1896 (a screenshot, in the Gallery):
State of Nebraska, County of Otoe, ss. William C. Flynn being duly sworn, says that there is no legal impediment existing to prevent Mr. William C. Flynn of Otoe County, Nebraska, aged 24 years, born in Clay County, State of Nebraska, the name of his father being James M. Flynn and the maiden name of his mother being Annie Owens, and Miss Anna M. Paulson of Otoe County, Nebraska, aged 24 years, born in Sweden, the name of her father being Nils Paulson and the maiden name of her mother being Christina Anderson, both white in color, from entering into the marriage contract, and that they both are of sufficient age, in law, to contract marriage.
Ancestry’s index has the groom’s mother as “Annie Flynn” (the record gives her maiden name, Owens) and the marriage on 13 Feb 1896, which is not on this part of the page. The tree carries the same date.
