- 3 June 1892: “Joe son of Frank Kuchenmeister while engaged in grubbing on his father’s farm four miles west of town met with a serious accident … throwing his foot in the way of his father’s ax.”
- April 1892: Frank Kuchenmeister overseer of road district no. 5, town of Franklin.
- 1893-1895: Joseph Kuchenmeister in the Delano school class lists; in spring 1895, “The violin solo by Mr. Kuchenmeister was encored, Joe acknowledging the honor by a neat little bow.”
- 13 March 1896: “In Franklin, on Tuesday, March 10, John Kuchenmeister, age 73 years … one of the early settlers in Delano … He leaves a wife and several grown children and numerous grand children.” Buried from the Catholic church in Delano.
- 17 Feb 1899: a dance in honour of Joe Kuchenmeister, who “left for Adrian [Almena] Wis., Wednesday morning.”
- 29 Dec 1899: “Joseph Kuchenmeister and wife, of Wis., came up yesterday morning for a visit with Delano friends and relatives.”
These tie the Almena postmaster to Frank’s son Joe of Delano.
