What it says
Elisha Reed and Esther Reed. The license was issued on 27 December 1842 by H. R. Stevens, clerk of the Morgan Circuit Court. The certificate below it, signed by C. B. Butler, gives the wedding as the 27th of a month cut off at the foot of the screenshot (it looks like March), and was filed on “17 February 1842.” A February or March 1842 date cannot follow a December 1842 license, so a year in the entry is miswritten. JoEllen Reed’s marriage list gives 25 March 1842.
