What it says
Gideon’s stone reads “GIDEON HOLBROOK / Died / Jan. 23, 1842 / Æ. 76 Y’rs.” Find a Grave shows “1786 (aged 55-56),” a misreading; the photograph taken in raking light shows 76 clearly. The family row: Gideon d. 1842, Nancy d. 1864, Gideon d. 1852, Gideon H. d. 1853, Mary d. 1899, and Elisha’s cenotaph.
