Compiled family history, read in the archive.org full text. Samuel Porter (c. 1636-1660), mariner, married “HANNAH, daughter of WILLIAM and ELIZABETH DODGE, of Beverly. She was born 24 July 1642; died 2 Jan. 1688, age 46 Years. She married for her second husband, Thomas Woodbury, of Beverly” (p. 30); his will of 1658/9, “being Bound to the Berbadus,” names “my father in law Wm. Dodge” an overseer (p. 31). William Dodge’s settlement of his lands, as quoted: “To my daughter Hannah Woodberry a parcel of land in the bounds of Beverly about 12 acres; also, during her life, the improvement of one halfe my farme at Wenham which I bought of Mr. John Fisk” (p. 32).

The Dodge pedigree (pp. 57-59): “WILLIAM1 DODGE, Born in England about 1604; died between 1685 and 1692. Married ELIZABETH …”, who came in the “Lyons Whelpe” in 1629; in 1685 he settled his lands on his son William, “paying to my brother if he come to New England and dwell in this town of Beverly £5 per annum as long as he shall dwell here.” Hannah married “2nd., Thomas, son of Humphrey and Elizabeth Woodbury, of Beverly, where he owned large estates”; their children: “William Woodbury, 1662-1725. Married Joanna Wheeler. 9 children”; Samuel (1666-1689); Thomas (1667-1698); Israel (1670); Hannah (1672, m. John Ober); Elizabeth (1676-1748, m. Joseph Herrick); a daughter (1679, d. young); Susanna (1680-1716); Jonathan (1682-1774, m. Eleanor Ellinwood).
