John Camden Hotten, The Original Lists of Persons of Quality ... Who Went from Great Britain to the American Plantations, 1600-1700

Printed transcripts of the English port books and lists of passengers. Used for:

• p. 61: a London list of 1635, with a certificate from the minister of Wapping: “Lynnen wever THO: CHITTINGDEN 51,” with his wife Rebecca (40) and sons Isaac (10) and Henry (6).
• p. 285: the Weymouth (Dorset) list of the Rev. Joseph Hull’s company, 20 Mar 1634/5: “THOMAS HOLBROOKE of Broudway aged 34: yeare / JANE HOLBROOKE his wife aged 34 Yeare,” with John 11, Thomas 10, Anne 5 and Elizabeth 1. Also printed in NEHGR 25:14.
