Bishop’s Stortford 26 July 1584; married there 1 July 1611 Elizabeth Brewster; inventory of “Goodman Emerson Sener deceased” 3 May 1666, will proved 10 May 1666. Its descent from Ralf Emerson of Foxton (granted arms 1535) is conjecture, and its suggestion that Elizabeth Brewster was a daughter of Elder William Brewster is chronologically implausible. Traces Ralph Waldo Emerson from Thomas through Rev. Joseph of Mendon (entry 601).

It argues (p. 22) that the baker of the family was Thomas’s son Thomas Jr., who died in 1653, not Thomas himself. The printed probate abstract dates the inventory “9: 3 m: 1666,” 9 May (Probate Records of Essex County 2:37), not 3 May.
