| Name | Relation | Born | Age | Married | Born in | Father | Mother | Occupation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pfeiffer, E. C. | head | May 1865 | 35 | married 2 years | New Hampshire | Germany | Germany | newspaper man (out of work 0 months) |
| M. F. | wife | Dec 1870 | 29 | married 2 years; 1 child, 1 living | Washington | Massachusetts | Maine | teacher (out of work 3 months) |
| A. P. | daughter | Aug 1899 | Washington | New Hampshire | Washington | |||
| H. P. Holbrook | mother-in-law | June 1834 | 66 | widowed; 3 children, 3 living | Maine | Maine | Maine |
The house was rented ("R"). Everyone could read, write and speak English. Harriet had borne five children (her daughter's typescript), two of whom had died young, so "3 children" is short by two; "3 living" (Horace, Mollie and Richard) is right.
In August 1900 the Post-Intelligencer described the house as on the corner of Thirty-second Avenue and East Union Street, and Emil as working in its business office (Seattle Post-Intelligencer, 1890-1900: Mollie Holbrook of Coupeville and Mrs. E. C. Pfeiffer).
