- note
- The birth record names Thomas and Hannah. That this William is the one who married Joanna Wheeler is the Porter Pedigree's ("William Woodbury, 1662-1725. Married Joanna Wheeler. 9 children") and fits the records: he was "William, jr." in 1694, beside his uncle William (b. 1651), and "sr." by 1705, and he named sons Israel and Thomas for his brother and father. The other William of Beverly, b. 1665 to William and Judith, has nothing to link him. Thomas Woodbury's probate (1719) or William's will would settle it.

- His will (Essex Probate, 6 Nov 1725), which should name "daughter Sarah" (Ellinwood or Allen) and settle Sarah's parentage.
