Wife of Joshua Riggs of Gloucester, married 23 Oct 1735.
Bolton (p. 45, as read in OCR): "92. Experience, bapt. April 22, 1715. 93. Susanna, bapt. December 27, 1719. 94. Experience, b. December 2[1?], 1719; m. October 23, 1735, Joshua Riggs." His no. 94 gives her the birth date of her sister Susanna and would make her fifteen at marriage. The town record, "Experience, d. James and Mary, Apr. 17, 1716" (VR 1:672), is the better date, and Mollie Pfeiffer has it too.
Her brothers and sisters, per Bolton p. 45: Mary, b. 1714 (m. Daniel Elwell, then Isaac Davis); Susanna (bp. 1719); Martha (1722, died the next day); James (1723); William (1726); and Abigail (1728).
Open questions
- Check a second scan of Bolton p. 45. Is the day in no. 94 the 21st (Susanna's birth in the VR) or the 27th (the date Bolton gives for Susanna's baptism, as the colonial tree reads it)?
