From the research file (research/mcmillan/McMillan_Frost_Master_Research.md, October 2026). William Simson assigned his Matinecock farm, bought from the Matinecock Indians in 1667, “unto
William ffrost of Seatawcott alis Brookehaven,” for a bond of £70 “in Indian Coren at three shillings
ꝑ bushell, or in Cattel.” The farm stayed in the Frost family until shortly before 1912.

- p. 27, “Oyster Bay ye 8th of March 1666”: Jonas Halstead, constable, “have made a Leagall Seasure, of ye two Towne Shipps which doe belong unto Majr: Danyell Gotherson, for & in ye behalfe of Mathew Pryer for a debt which is dew unto him, from ye Said Gotherson.”
- p. 50, “May ye 7th 1669”: “I Mathew Pryer of Killingworth, neare Oyster Bay upon Lon Island” sells “on halfe Sheare of Medo” to Richard Townsend.
- p. 78, Capt. John Underhill’s will, “Killingworth ye 7th Munth called, ye 12th day” 1671: “I Bequeath my whole Estate In possession of my wife Elizabeth Underhill During ye Time of her widowhood but if she Marry then my Brother John Bound Henry Townsend mathew pryer and my Son John Underhill I impower hereby that they See to ye Estate that ye Children be not wronged … and that my Son Nathaniel Be remaining with his mother Untell Twenty one Years … and that no part of my Land be alinated from my present ofspring.” Witnesses include William Simson and James Cock.
- pp. 354-355, the Indian deed of 1653 by which “Assiapum alias Mohenes” sold the land between Oyster River and the Papaquetunk “unto Peter Wright Samuel Mayo, William Leverich” for “Six Indean Coats, Six Kettles, Six ffathum of Wampam Six Hoes, Six Hatchetts, Three paire of Stockings, Thirty Aule-blades or Moxes, Twenty Knives, Three Shirts and as much Peague as will amount to four pounds Sterling,” with the list of “Joynt purchasers,” Anthony Wright among them.
