What it says
Says she was living at the home of her son, Capt. Richard B. Holbrook Jr., in Seattle. The last record that treats him as alive.
The notice in the Seattle Star of 27 Nov 1918, p. 3, the day after her death, reads:
“Mrs. Harriett E. Holbrook, 84, Seattle pioneer, is dead at the home of her son, Capt.
Richard Holbrook, jr., 560 Mercer st.” (as transcribed in
research/collins-reed/Molata-Addendum-Laws-Riddle-Bruner.md; the colonial tree cites the
same page). “Harriett E.” may be a misprint or a middle initial. Her age, 84, fits a birth
about 1834.
