What it says

- Los Angeles Sunday Times, 20 Aug 1922, Part VI, p. 1: a campaign advertisement for Friend W. Richardson for governor of California, signed “Citizens’ Richardson-for-Governor Committee, Thomas G. Stallsmith, Campaign Manager. Mrs. Frances H. Pfeiffer, Secretary. Campaign Headquarters: 10-11 Hollenbeck Hotel, Los Angeles.”
- Glendale Evening News, 22 Aug 1922, real-estate transfers: “Trust deed, R. H. and Alice P. Carter to T. G. & T. Co. Tr. for Frances H. Pfeiffer, Lot 184, tract 1587, Glendale … installment 8 per cent $1600.”
The trust deed names her daughter and son-in-law (marriage-license-carter-pfeiffer-1921), so the
Frances H. Pfeiffer of Los Angeles in August 1922 is her. That she was the campaign’s secretary
rests on the name, the city and the week.
