What it says
Sidebar to the shooting of Richard Clifford “Dick” Holbrook in Seattle’s University
District. Calls his mother Jessie a widow, the earliest record to do so. Full
transcription in research/collins-reed/Molata-Addendum-Laws-Riddle-Bruner.md,
Part Four.
The key line: “Mrs. Holbrook is a widow and she has all of a mother’s pride for her 20-year-old son, ‘Dick,’ as she calls him.” Whether Jessie said so, or the reporter assumed it, is not known. Her husband was then alive at Pollock, South Dakota, with his second family.
