What it says
Under “Members elected last month,” the pioneers elected to Igloo No. 15, Pioneers of Alaska,
Anchorage: “RICHARD B. HOLBROOK. The captain was born on Whidby Island, Washington, in September,
1872. He came to Cook Inlet first in April 1896, and to Anchorage as soon as the town was
established here. He is a steamboat master and his ‘outside’ address is 8629 51st street,
Seattle, Washington.” (research/collins-reed/Molata-Addendum-Laws-Riddle-Bruner.md, Part Five.)
His Seattle address in 1917 was not 560 Mercer, where he is listed in 1918 and 1919. Who lived at
8629 51st Street, and whether it was his and Jessie’s home, is not yet known; the 1917 Seattle
directory would say. His other Alaska seasons are in newspapers-alaska-holbrook-1915-1918.
