The return types the minister as “Damon,” as the Seattle Post-Intelligencer’s notice of 7 Oct
1900 has him; the transcription of the certificate (marriage-certificate-holbrook-clifford-1900)
reads “Dawson” and “Mrs. M. B. Frars.” Harriet’s maiden name was Low; Phillips was her middle
name, and Richard gave it as her surname here, as the informant did on his death certificate in
1923.
