In presence of: Jessie Clifford; Mrs. J. H. Gill. “Witness my hand and seal, at the County aforesaid, this 16th day of August A.D. 1893. J. H. Gill, Officiating Clergyman.” Filed for record 16 August 1893 at 11 [?] 45 o’clock A.M., and recorded in Book 1 of Marriages, page 63; signed by the county clerk, C. D. Johnson [?].
The bride is Emma (Bruner) Clifford Davis, later known as Emma Dunlap: she had married John Lewis Davis in 1881, and the first witness, Jessie Clifford, is her daughter, then seventeen. This is the Dunlap marriage that until now was known only from her use of the name from 1910.
