What it says
The Library of Congress’s printed register of copyrights. Found 10 Oct 2026, from the scans’ text.
- 1916, Books, entry 13213: “Pfeiffer (Frances Holbrook) Los Angeles. Cinema lyceum. [4] p.
24mo. (c) Apr. 22, 1916; … A 430772.” A four-page pamphlet, the year of her Cinema Lyceum
letters (
letters-cinema-lyceum-du-bois-1916). - 1918, Works of Art, entry 266: “PFEIFFER (FRANCES H.) Seattle. Little Hoover in the house; by Johannas Ericson Flatebo. [Statuette of Mr. Hoover standing by basket of food …] (c) Mar. 19, 1918; G 55771.”
- 1918, Works of Art, entry 7661: “PFEIFFER (FRANCES H.) Seattle. Load ships, not plates. (c) Feb. 23, 1918; … K 119863.” A wartime print.
The 1918 entries are a probable match only: the name and the year fit, and the Harvard class report
has Emil working for the Y.M.C.A. at Seattle during the war (reports-harvard-class-1889-pfeiffer),
but nothing else ties these two to her.
