What it says
“Nathan Low of Deer Isle … Gentleman,” with “Rebekah Low” releasing her dower, sold Ignatius Haskell of Deer Isle 40 acres on “Egemoggin Reach, so called” for $130. The bounds run “by land of the sd Nathan,” and by land of Thomas Thompson, John Closson, Robert Line and Joshua Staples. Acknowledged before Joseph Tyler, J.P.
This is the land Hosmer describes: “he became owner of the land laid out to Joshua Staples; he afterward was owner of one of the lots laid out to Mr. Thomas Thompson near Thompson’s Cove” (p. 143). The bounds by Thomas Thompson’s land support Rebekah’s place in the Thompson family.
