Towne & Spofford v. Nathan Low, Hancock County Court of Common Pleas

“Samuel G. Towne & Pearl Spofford both of Deer Isle … Merchants & Copartners in trade, plaintiffs V. Nathan Low of said Deer Isle yeoman defendant,” on a note of hand of 27 Oct 1808 for $34.36. “The defendant although solemnly called to come into Court does not appear but makes default.” Judgment $36.58 and costs $17.87; execution issued 24 Nov 1809. The same merchants sued Thomas Thompson, yeoman, at the same term on two notes.
