What it says

Known from Ferris, Dawes-Gates 2:350, and Jacobus, Ackley-Bosworth Ancestry (1960) pp. 24-27. Edmund Freeman, for himself and his five living children, sued his brother William, John Gratwicke gent. and others over the lands of his late father-in-law John Hodsoll. The depositions swore the Billingshurst baptisms of 1622-1629, which the register (WSRO Par/21/1/1/1, with gaps c. 1622-1629) does not have: Bennett (son) 20 Jan 1621/2, Elizabeth 11 Apr 1624, John 28 Jan 1626/7, Nathaniel 2 Sept 1629. They called him “a man of good credit and repute” (as paraphrased by Dawes-Gates).

The suit itself has not been found among the catalogue entries listed.
