Pratt, A Comprehensive History of Eastham, Wellfleet and Orleans (1844)

“1651. Mr. John Mayo, son of the minister, was married to Miss Hannah Lecraft” (p. 23). Lists Daniel and Jeremiah Mayo among Wellfleet’s early settlers (p. 115), and Daniel as precinct treasurer 1742-1756 (p. 143), which the precinct records contradict.

On the Wellfleet meeting house: when it was enlarged with a porch and steeple in 1765, Elisha Holbrook contracted “to provide all the bricks, lime and other materials, to underpin and pave round the house, for £16” (also in Freeman, History of Cape Cod, 2:662).
