What it says

Read through the archive.org text in the Ellingwood kin research (research/ellingwood/Ellingwood_Kin_Connections.md, October 2026). Among those “Killed in Rowlandson Garrison” on 10 Feb 1675/6: “Thomas Rowlandson, nephew of the minister, aged 19” (p. 104); again, “Thomas Rowlandson, aged nineteen years, nephew of Reverend Joseph.” This is the son of Thomas Rowlandson of Salisbury, born there 5 July 1656, and so a brother of Martha (Rowlandson) Ellinwood. The minister was Rev. Joseph Rowlandson, whose wife Mary was taken captive in the same attack and wrote the narrative of it. Marvin’s History of Lancaster (1879) calls the dead Thomas “brother of the minister”; Nourse’s later list corrects it.
