What it says
As read in the Cape Cod research (research/ellingwood/Ellingwood_Cape_Cod.md): “Several families of
the name of Brown came to Gorham from Eastham, Mass., among whom were those of Joseph, Samuel and
Sylvanus … (2) Benjamin Brown, son of Joseph, lived on the old Buxton road. He owned the thirty acre
lot 44 which had belonged to Geo. Brown, of Eastham. He married Sarah, daughter of Col. Edmund and
Betty Phinney. Children: Edmund, b. Sept. 22, 1772 … Joseph … Betty … Isaac Cole, b. Nov. 25,
1778 … John … Nancy … Hannah, b. Jan. 20, 1786. Polly … Patience … Sally.” McLellan does
not say whom this Hannah married.
