What it says

A short history of Marietta, Ohio, read in the archive.org full text for the Hatten research. It reprints the lists of settlers who lived through the Indian war of 1791-1795 within the stockades, after Hildreth’s Pioneer History (1848). Among “Those who resided in or near Fort Harmar throughout the Indian war”: “George Warth, wife, and five sons and two daughters — Joseph Fletcher, who married Catharine Warth — Picket Meroin, who married Polly Warth — Francis Thiery, wife and two children.” (“Meroin” is a misreading of Marvin.)
