What it says
One of a series of newsletter articles (2022-2026) on where Richard Warren of the Mayflower came from. They propose a Richard Warren baptised at Newport, Essex, 22 Sept 1583, son of Richard and Joan (Hadsley) Warren, and a Richard Warren made free of the London Drapers’ Company in 1609/10. The draper idea is suggestive because Augustine Walker’s overseer, Simon Adams, was a London draper, but nothing yet ties the draper to Elizabeth Walker. These are newsletter articles, not peer-reviewed. The earlier proposal of a Richard baptised at St Peter Cornhill in 1579/80 (46(4), 2022) was withdrawn with a printed disclaimer: that man was a cutler, buried in 1624.
