Notes
Born in London about 1839 to an Irish family on the move: her brother Michael Thomas Connelly was born at Manchester in 1836, and an older brother James in Ireland about 1829. She came to America in 1850. The county history of 1916 says she “came to America as a young girl, lived in Cohoes, New York, for a while, and in 1854 came to Minnesota to keep house for her brothers” (source); in 1857, aged 16, she was with them in Dakota County (record). Cohoes, the mill town where she had lived, is where her daughter Martha’s future in-laws, the Dwyers, were living in 1875. She married Henry Tisdell at St. Louis in 1860 and had ten children. She died in Lakeville Township, Dakota County, on 11 July 1913, four months after her brother Michael in the same township; buried at St. John’s, Morton.
