"CHANCE FOR SOMEBODY.--Mr. R. B. Holbrook, of Coveland, Island county, has offered for sale his valuable farm near that place. The farm contains 160 acres of prairie land, besides a forty acre timber or wood lot. It is situated on the east side of Penn's Cove. The place has a water frontage of half a mile, and a good house, two barns, a well and spring, and the title is United States patent." His advertisement ran from 1 Oct 1878: "For particulars enquire on the premises of R. B. HOLBROOK, Coveland, W. T." The Seattle Daily Post-Intelligencer of 10 Aug 1882, p. 4, reported from Coupeville that "Captain Holbrook in Penn's Cove has a fine piece almost ready for the machine." Read 14 Oct 2026 in the Library of Congress's scans; the notice of 28 Sept checked against the image, the others read in its text.
