A compiled history of the town, with the early history of Quaboag (Brookfield).
Cited for King Philip's War (research/king-philips-war/): Thomas Millett at Brookfield: "There is
evidence that he succeeded Mr. Younglove as minister at Brookfield in 1674 ... He received a grant of a
home-lot of 20 acres, and 10 acres of meadow ... was with his wife living in Brookfield June 3, 1675 ...
He died early in 1676" (p. 67); and James Hovey, "killed by the Indians Aug. 2, 1675" (p. 67), in the
attack on Brookfield. Temple's date for Millett's death is too late: the Ipswich court granted
administration of his estate to "Mary Millet, the relict" on 28 Sept 1675 (EQC 6:73).
