Second wife of Capt. Reinold Marvin of Lyme, married 30 June 1709, and mother of six of his children: Martha (1710), Elisha (1711, died an infant), James (1713), Sarah (1715/16), Capt. Elisha (1717/18) and Miriam (1719/20). She was born at Norwich, daughter of Sergt. Thomas Waterman and Miriam Tracy, and outlived her husband by sixteen years. Her stone in the Duck River burying ground, at his right, is "much the better executed" of the three: "Here lies the body of Martha Marvin, relict of Captain Reinold Marvin, who died in peace in hopes of a glorious resurrection, Nov. A. D. 1753, in the 74th year of her age" (source).
Research: Notable connections of Patricia Hatten (1940-2009): the paternal Hatten line.
